If you’re staying in Ubud for several days, it’s easy to combine one of these beaches with nearby attractions such as Tegenungan Waterfall, Goa Gajah, Kanto Lampo Waterfall, Tibumana Waterfall, Bali Safari Marine Park or a traditional Balinese village for a full-day or half-day sightseeing trip. Most of the beaches closest to Ubud have black volcanic sand, because Ubud is centrally located and the nearest coastlines are on Bali’s east and southeast shores, where volcanic activity has created dark-sand beaches.
Sanur Beach located about 25 km from Ubud Center, it’s about 45 – 60 minutes drive by car. The beach stretches from south Mertasari Beach till to the north Matahari Beach. There are many accommodation available from guest house till 5 star hotel along of Danau Tamblingan Street. It’s good beach for kite surfing and wind surfing. During weak end day Saturday and Sunday afternoon the beach busy with local people to have swim, canoeing, fishing and relax. Along the beach can do jogging track and push bike ride. This beach also good place to watch the sunrise.
Matahari Terbit Beach (Sunrise Beach) located 23 km from Ubud Center about 45 – 60 minutes drive by car. It is located at the northern end of Sanur Beach, close to the departure point for fast boats to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. It’s one of the most peaceful beach to watch the sun come up with Beautiful sunrise views with Mount Agung often visible on clear mornings. Biaung Beach is a peaceful black-sand beach on Bali’s east coast in Kesiman, Denpasar, just north of Padang Galak Beach. It’s located about 18 km about 45 minutes drive from Ubud Center by car. It’s popular with locals for morning walks, sunrise views, surfing, horse riding and kite flying rather than swimming. It offers a more local and tranquil atmosphere than many of Bali’s busier beaches, making it a pleasant stop on a day trip from Ubud or while exploring the Sanur–Denpasar coastline.
Located 14 km about 35 minutes drive by car from Ubud center. Saba Beach is a peaceful black-sand beach in Gianyar Regency, located between Biaung and Keramas on Bali’s southeast coast. Less crowded than many of Bali’s famous beaches, it is known for its volcanic sand, dramatic sunrises, horseback riding, and authentic local atmosphere. Saba Beach is not recommended for swimming because of strong waves and currents. The beach is better suited for sightseeing, photography, and coastal walks.
Located 17 km about 35 minutes drive by car from Ubud center. Keramas Beach is one of the best beaches near Ubud, combining scenic black volcanic sand, spectacular sunrises, and some of Bali’s finest surfing. The best waves are typically found during the dry season when offshore winds create clean conditions. Whether you’re a surfer chasing world-class waves or a traveller looking for a peaceful coastal escape, Keramas Beach is well worth adding to your Bali itinerary.
Located 16 km about 35 minutes drive by car from Ubud center. Lebih Beach is a peaceful black-sand beach in Gianyar Regency, famous for its fresh seafood restaurants, scenic sunrise views, and authentic local atmosphere. The beach is an excellent destination for travellers who want to experience a quieter side of Bali while enjoying fresh seafood, stunning sunrises, and a relaxed coastal atmosphere at late afternoon moonrise. Located along Bali’s southeast coast, it is one of the closest beaches to Ubud and a popular stop for travellers exploring East Bali.
