Ubud Nature – Best nice places to visit surrounding Ubud area

Ubud has beautiful nature landscape including rice field, rice terrace, river valley and monkey forest and more. The garden has lush green rolling rice terraces and greenery everywhere and you may do some great walks in Ubud that show you this nature side of Bali. Best rice terrace near Ubud to visit is Tegallalang Rice Terrace. Nice walk into rice field through the center of Ubud and Kajeng Street and turn till Abangan street and more adventure walk is Campuhan Rigde Walk.

This rice terraces has lovely view with coconut trees and beautiful small river valley. Tegallalang Village well known with the village of handicrafts center specially for wholesale and export, a long of the road you will see a lot of the shops, they sell variety of painted woodcarving with colorful designed. The painted woodcarving products the sell made from very light wood with reasonable price, they do sell theirs handicrafts for retail too.

Ubud Sanctuary Monkey Forest

The monkeys within the Sacred Monkey Forest of Padangtegal are commonly called long-tailed macaques. Their scientific name is Macaca fascicuiaris. On Bali , there are Balinese long-tailed macaque troops (populations) that live in areas where they have little to no contact with humans and troops that come into contact with humans on a regular basis. Beside of monkey and forest, there are some temple inside of Ubud Monkey Forest. In western part is Dalem Temple (temple dedicated to Siwa Gods), in eastern is the cemetery and Merajapati Temple, this temple is adjacent to the cemetery. In this temple Hindus worship to the God (Hyang Widhi) in personification as Brahma Prajapati. The cemetery is used temporarily, while waiting for the day of the mass cremation which is held every 5 years. One small temple located at the river bank call Spring Water Temple use for purification ceremony during there temple anniversary at Dalem Temple.
